There have been numerous studies that select the treadmill as the best cardiovascular workout including the American Medical Association who rank it as number one cardio machine.

Walking or Running
This machine is based around the most natural movement people can do, and that is walking or running. Whether you’re a casual walker or a serious runner, a treadmill can accommodate both needs. You can adjust the incline or speed to increase the cardiovascular workout you want.

Home Workouts
Whether you’re working out at home or the gym you will always be able to avoid bad whether. Cold weather or hot humid weather can become a serious issue that you don’t have to worry about.

Low Impact
Another great aspect of the treadmill is the ability to be less stressful on your joints then the pounding running can do on asphalt or concrete. Your Achilles tendons, knee joints, back muscles, ankles take less a beating on a treadmill than regular surfaces.

These treadmills are becoming more sophisticated in what kinds of workouts you can have.
